Custom Bus has been an iconic Australian manufacturing company since its inception in 1955.
It traditionally survived on large public transport contracts but due to tighter margins and a flood of imported buses, the company fell on hard times and was handed over to administrators in 2018. Like so many Australian businesses that have fallen by the wayside, Custom Bus was heading out of business until a go-getter named Scott Dunn stepped in and purchased the company just in time.
Although saved in the eleventh hour, Custom Bus was forced to downsize from its vast commercial site at Villawood to smaller premises at St. Marys. Luckily, the Dunn group were on the ball, hiring back as many of the original staff as possible (And with a pay rise!). However, the new site needed a lot of work and more space to get everything operational again. Scott wanted another building that could be utilized outside of the main factory to showcase their custom-designed buses and fit outs to prospective clients. As experts in commercial shed creation, ShedPro was chosen to design and install the new building.

This large, open plan design includes a vast showcasing space, as well as an upstairs office for client meetings so that Scott and his team can lock in sales then and there. We’re confident that this new building will achieve great results, bringing in more business than ever before.
While it has only recently been completed and is still in the process of being fitted out as this article is prepared, Scott has big plans for the new site and we hope to return to complete any other structures that he needs.
